ATTENDANCE
When you call our main line (503-785-8300) you will have options:
Press 1 - Attendance: To excuse late arrivals, absences or early pick-ups before 3:30 pm.
Press 2 - Counseling/Registration: Student schedules, enrollment, student concerns/issues.
Press 0 - Main Office: Any other question or concern
You can also EMAIL US for any of these reasons as well.
Please be sure to include Student name, grade, reason for absence, late arrival or early pick-up. Include the name of who is picking up if it is someone other than a parent/guardian.
Please try to give us one hours notice for early pick-ups
We recommend picking students up no later than one hour before end of day. (4:10 most days, 3:10 on Wednesdays)
For a pre-planned, extended absence, please email the main office.
HOMEWORK REQUESTS:
For extended absences please email your students teachers regarding missing assignments or check Google Classroom.

You can help support your school community in a variety of ways listed below or donating directly to your school. Check our website calendar for dates and locations.
FUNDRAISERS
There are a variety of fundraisers throughout the school year. Some may take place at school, while others might take place outside of school on weekends or evenings, and some are sponsored by our PTSO, others are ran by the school staff. We appreciate your support.
Butter-Braids: Pastry sales just in time for the holidays. Orders start 10/13 and will be delivered on 11/17. (Online ordering)
Dine-Out Nights: Different restaurant each month, arranged by our PTSO. We earn 25% of orders placed on these days!

PTSO
Parent/Teacher/Student Organization
Having our parents, grandparents and community supporting our students and school is an important part of their educational experience.
We welcome you to come to these monthly meetings and get involved. Help create socials, plan fundraisers, meet other parents and have fun.
PTSO typically meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in our school HUB, from 6:00-7:00pm.

Join teacher Travis Nodurft on a trip to Europe in the Summer of 2024.
Study abroad with Rotary Youth Exchange Student program

The Student Handbook is a booklet of procedures and expectations for students attending Tumwata Middle School. It includes cafeteria, transportation, attendance, dress code, referrals, code of conduct and everything in between. It’s a useful guide for both parents and students to refer to.

If you are interested in volunteering please follow all instructions on this page.
Volunteering could include working an event on campus (move-a-thon, socials) or chaperoning on a field trip off campus. We need you!

The following items can be purchased/paid for online:
PE Clothes (Red T-Shirt $8, Black athletic shorts $10)
After School Activities ($10/ea)
Yearbooks ($25/ea) - Yearbooks will be passed out on the last day of school. Families may order more than one.
Pay in Main Office (in person) - Cash, check or credit card (You may send cash/check with your student)

PBIS
Positive Behavior and Intervention Support (PBIS) is a framework of effective organizational systems, interventions, and practices that have been empirically validated to reduce problem behavior and promote positive socially appropriate behavior.
The goal is to maximize academic engagement and establish a positive school climate by preventing the development and establishment of problem behaviors.
